Course Description: In today's world, personal safety is of paramount importance. This introductory self-defense course is designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to enhance their personal security and empower them to handle potential threats effectively. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants will learn early threat detection techniques, the power of verbal commands, and fundamental combative skills to increase their confidence and ability to protect themselves in various situations.

Course Objectives:

  1. Early Threat Detection: Students will develop the ability to identify and assess potential threats in different environments, such as public spaces, streets, and social gatherings. They will learn how to recognize signs of suspicious behavior, assess their surroundings for potential danger, and make informed decisions to prevent or mitigate threats.

  2. Verbal Commands: Effective communication can be a powerful tool in de-escalating confrontations. Students will learn to assert themselves confidently through assertive verbal commands, utilizing tone, body language, and clear instructions to diffuse potentially volatile situations. They will practice scenarios where verbal de-escalation can be employed, emphasizing non-confrontational communication strategies.

  3. Combatives: Self-defense often requires physical intervention when verbal techniques are not sufficient. This course will introduce students to practical and effective combative techniques suitable for self-defense situations. Participants will learn striking techniques, joint locks, and basic grappling maneuvers to protect themselves and create opportunities for escape. Emphasis will be placed on proper body mechanics, target selection, and leveraging personal strengths.
